[Korean Culture] When visiting to Korea, what do you want to eat? CHICAGO PIZZA + HOMIBING near to Gang Nam station 11 exit.

Korean culture : eat something?

when visiting to Seoul, what do you wanna eat? BULGOGI? BIBIMBAP?
Actually, many Korean style restaurant are opening at foreign country, So I think you should not eat Korean traditional food, and you could eat 3 times per day, so many foreigner consider that what should eat.

There are many foreign style food in Korea, because many Korean go abroad, so could eat various foreign food. Today, I prepared to post famous food to trendy younger people. Young people find that represent personality different to the older generation and they want to post photos at own SNS.

What is Chicago pizza?

Chicago-style pizza includes several different pizza styles developed in Chicago. Chicago-style deep-dish pizza is baked in a specialized, round pan resembling the type used for baking a cake, typically 1 1/2 inches deep (3.1cm). The pan gives the pizza its characteristically high edge and a deep surface for the large amounts of cheese and chunky tomato sauce. Most pizzerias in Chicago also serve thin-crust pizza in a style characteristic to the city, although Chicago-style pizza is most commonly known for the deep-dish style of pizza outside the Chicago metropolitan area.

I finally met Chicago pizza, it's different to general pizza. It's more thick and combine much cheese. So, many young Korean people love to eat it. When going to Chicago pizza store, should stand in line for minutes. There are two types of pizza, after choosing a pizza, you could choose ingredients. I picked up 2 toppings; bacon and spinach.

There are 5 ingredients;bacon, bulgogi, spinach, mushroom, pepperoni. The bread part of pizza is also different to general pizza, It seems to have butter smell, and have thicker dough.
If you comes to Korea, have not eaten a Chicago pizza, how about trying it?

HOMIBING : It comes from TAIWAN

HOMIBING makes TAIWAN traditional ice flake sell to customer. It is different to traditional Korean ice flake, and It is more smooth and has a deep taste. I picked up a milk -tea flavor. It is consisted of milk-tea flavor smooth ice and crispy Korean INGEOLMI flavor snack and milk pudding. And then, there are strawberry , mango, oreo mil, chocolate, taro and so on. Average price is 9 thousands Korean currency.
One of famous Korean comedian is Homibing's investor, So he promotes this store entertainingly, I guess that many people are familiar to this brand.
If you like to eat ice flake, Let's go to HOMIBING eat together!

[Korean Food] Lotte.com Global/ Korean Food / Korean Traditional Food / New year's day / Tteokguk

In Korea, there is "Tteokguk 떡국", traditional food.

"Tteokguk is a traditional Korean dish eaten during the celebration of the Korean New Year. The dish consists of the broth/soup (guk) with thinly sliced rice cakes (tteok - it can be called a kind of rice pasta). It is tradition to eat tteokguk on New Year's Day because it is believed to grant the consumer luck for the forthcoming year and gain a year of age. It is usually garnished with thin julienned cooked eggs, marinated meat, and gim."

<History of Tteokguk>
"The origin of eating tteokguk on New Year's Day is unknown. However, tteokguk is mentioned in the 19th century book of customs Dongguksesigi (동국세시기, 東國歲時記) as being made with beef or pheasant used as the main ingredient for the broth, and pepper added as seasoning. The book also mentions the custom of having a bowl of tteokguk in the morning of New Year's Day to get a year older, and the custom of saying "How many bowls of tteokguk have you eaten?" to ask a person's age.
In the book The Customs of Joseon written in 1946 by historian Choe Nam-seon, the New Year custom of eating tteokguk is speculated as being originated from ancient times. The white tteok signifying purity and cleanliness would be eaten as a ritual to start off the New Year for good fortune.
In Korea, on Lunar New Year's Day, a family performs ancestral rites by serving tteokguk to their ancestors during a joint meal. Although tteokguk is traditionally a seasonal dish, it is now eaten at all times of the year."
